Sure, DVD encryption is very easily cracked but (DeCSS)
but getting the *unencrypted* version back onto a DVD
medium is a whole other ball game.  It's not that it
can't be done, but you would have to format the content
all over again, which is no small task to begin with. 
Vastly different from an outright copy of an already
unencrypted DVD-5 disk.  All in all, it's not at all
cost/time effective for a casual home user to do so,
considering a DVD is only like $24 bucks to begin with.
At least IMHO.
