Hello all,
I just ressurected a nice, clean, panasonic KX-P1124 dot matrix
printer, and yowza, I forgot how loud these puppies were!
I found myself oddly misty when I heard that mini-chainsaw sound, as I
ran the printer through it's self-test (based on hints found at
http://www.nefec.org/UPM/printers/mpa14.htm - a great find!
Now that I know it works OK, I may go out and secure some ribbons,
paper for it - that chainsaw sound makes me want to fire up BASIC and
do some coding! ;^)
(oh, and in the same corner of the basement I found a 386DX-40 w/128K
cache and 16 Meg of RAM with NetBSD installed from Dec. 1997 - at
least, that is when the mail messages in the root account end... Seems
a shame to pitch it, but I can't imagine a practical use for it -
thoughts?)
