When I was in LA last week, we went to a range. $5 to rent most guns,
and $10 for 30 rounds. We probably got taken, but it was fun.
I wasn't sure what to expect, since it was my first time with a
handgun. I started out with a Ruger 9mm, and it was nice. Then I tried
a Glock (17, I think) and it was horrible. The casing's were hitting my
shoulder, my head, one almost went down my shirt.
My friend got a .357 revolver and that was ok for recoil, but damn, it
was loud.
I took the Glock back and decided to try something larger. I tried a
Kimbey (?) .45 and I fell in love. It was just right. Everything, the
gun, the recoil. It was perfect, I used it the rest of the night. My
friend kept asking me when I was going to switch.
He tried a .44 revolver, but I didn't like it. Too heavy, but the
recoil wasn't too bad. I just didn't like the feel of the gun.
I had fun, I might have to see if I can find a similar place in town.
