I saw a movie many years ago, one of those where the hero has a 1911
Colt or some similar semi-auto and is being attacked by 50 guys with
submachine guns.
They fired something like 9 million rounds at him, destroying the
buildings around him in the process, and he gets a minor shoulder wound,
which heals in 30 seconds.
He fired almost 30 rounds from his pistol, and then they have this
contrived "not enough time to reload" moment right as he is getting
through the minions to the bad guy.
Of course, I guess that is no worse that all those westerns where a guy
on a horse going through rough country is firing at guys behind him
and hitting them at a range that would be non-trivial for a rifleman
standing still.
