Yeah, I know about switching streams, however I haven't gotten as far as 
leaving 6.5.18f yet.

In reference to installing only some 6.5.18 patches I say :

>>Anyway, Indy installs the required and I get ready to reboot. Kernel
>>panic during shutdown. Reboot, and no joy, kernel panics evertime.

As an update I just did an install same of 6.5.18f and I got about 91% 
before I got another panic.
