US$1500 is a great price for a single-CPU PowerMac.  Hell, the same
price is also *excellent* for a laptop of the caliber of the Powerbooks.

I also recently saw an add in the Micro Center flyer for an iBook for
$800 - 700Mhz G3.  Not a bad deal at all.

In terms of raw speed, yes you can do better at those price points with
Intel hardware, but you also don't get as nice a system.
