Here is what I set up for the hotel I did:

Virtually they have 4 Access points there. All 4 Access points
share the same SSID. Each access point is wired to a hub. The
first 3 access points are on frequency: 1, 6, 11 and the 4th access
point that is out of reach of the first one has channel 1 again. You
have to make sure you change the channels or you will get interference
from the other access point what can cause signal loss. In your case
I would suggest that you set access point 1 to channel 1 and access
point 2 to channel 11. Then if everything works out fine you should
be able to roam between those 2 access points and your wirless card
will check for the strongest channel.

For the hotel we did we used Lucent AP-500 but I have the Linksys
WAP-11 here at home and to give you a hint check out the FreeBSD
ports collection for the tool AP-Config or compile it yourselfe from
http://ap-utils.polesye.net/ . This tool let's you do more stuff with your
WAP-11 like crank up the power what I dont suggest as the WAP-11
has the tendency to produce a dirty signal then (meaning you will cut over
into diffrent frequencey's probably making other people mad). But it lets
you configure the channels and stuff very good.
