I've never understood why our culture dismisses those who use their
sexuality as an asset as somehow less than those who do not.
How we assume that because someone uses that asset, they are somehow
unworthy, or that it indicates they are unable to do otherwise.
I have never succumbed to the pseudo-feminist notion that physical
attractiveness is either irrelevant or somehow demeaning or lessening to
the soul. It is not a burden to overcome by any means. It SHOULD NOT
present societal difficulties to ones intelectual or spiritual pursutis,
but often it does.
I, and several others on this lsit are presented with s imilar
situation. I am an extremely large, strong man. Most people make the
assumption that I will be physically slow and ungraceful, jockish (rude,
boorish, completley lacking subtelty) and quite simply not intelligent,
simply because of that physical appearance. Im sure that Pete, Dave C.,
Bill, and others have all gone through this. Especially those of us who
were involved in athletics. Its simply assumed that you can be smart or
strong and fast, as if they were mutually exclusive.
Similarly it is often assumed that one can be attractive, sexy, and
sexual, or intelligent and useful, and that these factors are mutually
exclusive. This is obviously untrue, but it persists.
Personally I think she's quite sexy. Of course I tend to like little
pixieish women, and dramatic sexy makeup is a big turn-on for me. I also
think shes quite intelligent and well spoken from the interviews I've
read. And yes, she is taking advantage of her sexuality to position
herself better. I say GOOD. More power to her. Use every advantage you
have because otherwise you'll never know how far you can get.
