Under Irix 6.5.x it should run just fine on an Onyx.  In fact, it would
probably run quite well.  I don't know how well Houdini will use multiple
procs, but even a single R10k should be quite useable.  I assume, perhaps
wrongly so, that the renderer could take advantage of all those procs - and
the RE2, well, it should be most excellent...
