Boy, I sure wish that were so. Perhaps, if they couldn't demonstrate a need
for the SUV's extra capacity (e.g., an IBEW union card for a professional
electrician driving to construction sites, or proof of membership in a local
grain co-op for farmers, or a "My Dogs Went To Nome And All I Got Was This
Stupid T-shirt" t-shirt for dog-sledders), then they would be admitting that
they don't really need the dam* thing, and therefore they would surrender
something (say, permission to breed) in exchange.
   *sigh*

P.S. Before you ask, I drive a mini-van -- but I stop at intersections, and I
don't tailgate.
P.P.S. Where I grew up, Minnesota, translators are now available at the DMV
for people taking the license test who don't speak English. Can I ask how
likely it is that they will be able to read traffic signs *while driving* if
they can't read them during the exam in the quiet testing room?
