Not that I'm any kind of programmer but wouldn't some inner loop that would cmp the first
file with the next and if the same, save the names in another file.  Then go the third file and
compare with the first and so on. When finished, start the cmp between the second file and
all the others until you get through the mess, then the third and so on..  I know it's badly 
redundant and messy but it's only thirty seconds of thought from a non-programmer.
