[geeks] overlaying text onto video

You can actually do that with mencoder.
Use an external subtitle file, "-subalign 1" aughtta move it to the 
center of the screen...
Might take you a little bit to get the options right, but after that 
the production is fast...and you have the added "up yours" feeling 
you get when you beat Microsoft down with a piece of free software.
