Well, I'd thought I'd toss these out to the list 'cause I know there
are people out there still looking and the folks we have been
interviewing are less than stellar.
2 full-time SA positions in the DC area, must be US Citizen,
no relocation (but you can get here on a shoe string, really--
that's how I got here). Position is with AT&T, in Government
Solutions, one of the (few) growing branches of the company.
Details:
100% Solaris
telecommuting up to 60-75% after you get up to speed and
have the program manager's confidence
on-call rotation 1/3 weeks; some after hours work for maintenance
it's a salary position with the usual benefits from a large company,
*however* the gov't contract stipulates overtime, so we get hourly
overtime at 1x
Weblogic & Apache are the biggies, but clues are more important
bonuses: configuration mgmt, QA experience, software building
experience, host-side security (ipf, tripwire, titan), Oracle, Web
Trends, scripting, formal clustering software (Sun Cluster or other),
methods of managing documentation for SAs
We also have 3-4 one month contracts in the Dallas area, again
US Citizens, no relocation, start is TBD and dependent upon when
we get the hardware. These positions will be expanding the staging
site so that it will fully support business continuance for the site in
DC. There will be some hardware work, but the majority of the work
will be oriented to doing OS hardening, WL, Apache, FAST Datasearch,
and Oracle installs. Essentially, these four folks will be replicating the
production server configs and QAing them to make sure they act as
expected.
If you want more info, contact me off-line; feel free to pass along to
others. I will pass resumes that pass my muster directly to the
hiring manager, HR person, and program manager.
