Dave has a neat-o Mac trinket for those of you with a NuBus Macintosh
and a LaserWriter. If you want it, please mail him soon, as it's headed
for the garbage.

I'm trying to get stuff cleaned up around here.
I have a neat kit available, a LaserMax MX6C. It is basically an upgrade kit
for a LaserWriter-II/NT which consists of a board that goes in the printer and
a NuBus board that goes in a Mac, and it bumps the printer's resolution up to
something insane like 1000 DPI. I remember seeing marketing blurbs for these
about fifteen years ago when I was working in the DTP industry; it was sold as
a low-cost typesetting system. As I recall they were pretty well-regarded, but
I've never seen one in action. Our company toyed with the idea of buying one,
but we had good contacts at the Princeton University Press who they let us use
their Varityper VT-600 whenever we needed to generate camera-ready output, so
we decided not to go for one of these.
I know zero about this, I don't know if it works, I don't even know if it's
complete...but it is in it's original box at least. I don't want anything for
it; I just don't want to throw it away...so, I'm offering it free for shipping
(probably ~$15 or so). Someone please take this off my hands, it is in my way.
