Are you going to carry it or use it? If it's going to spend it's life 
on a desk or table, and take short trips between, get the the 17" widescreen
version.

If it's going to spend it's time on the road, be used on airplanes,
your lap, park benches, etc get the 12".

Don't forget to get the WiFi (airport extreme) card.
