[geeks] Perl 5.8.7 on Solaris

Has anyone successfully cimpiled Perl-5.8.7 on Solaris using any of:
gcc-3.2.3, gcc-3.3.2, gcc-3.4.2?

How about with threading enabled and ithreads?

How about with maximal 64-bitness enabled?

No matter what I do or how I do it, the compile ALWAYS dies with a bus
error trying to create miniperl, and from that point onward *everything*
bus-errors.  Any clues, ideas, suggestions...?
