With Powerbooks, if you have an external display hooked up they will
continue to run. What usually happens with an iBook or P'book is that
they go to sleep when you close the lid. On P'books, if you have an
external display hooked up, the internal display will shut off. They
call this "clamshell mode".
Apparently in 'books, this is activated by a magnet/reed switch.
