Yes, although tri-junction RGB "white" LEDs are also under development.
Because the LED is running on DC, though, it does not have the 60Hz
subliminal flicker of fluorescents.
(One of the nice things about the tri-junction types is they offer the
possibility of custom-tuning the white balance.)
