Yes, they still do, but restrictions have been placed on the practice
since the terror attacks in NYC - you have to be a registered "known
shipper", you have to give them several hours notice, etc. This is in
Omaha, NE, USA BTW, so YMMV.

I would have the shipper contact their local airline front desks to see
what it'll take to get something shipped.
