True...but you can register as a Microsoft Partner on their website and get
their "Action Pack" which includes 10 copies of Microsoft Office, MS Project,
MS Visio, 10 copies of Windows XP Pro, a copy of Microsoft Windows Server 2003
(I don't believe it's the Enterprise Edition), Microsoft Exhange, and Microsoft
SQL Server. There's more I just can't remember what exactly. It all goes for
$299. Now, yes, granted...you've got to register as a Microsoft Parter and all
the software is NFR -- Not For Resale -- it's meant to help you sell MS products
to customers...but if you need to do the business it's a great deal. I ended
up registering my company which I do on the side consulting with as an MS
partner (as well as a Cisco, Sun, and IBM partner) in order to get these kinds
of deals. I don't plan on spending my life working for someone else...
eventually I hope to be able to fully support myself and my family with my own
business. If you do work in the industry, these deals are available. Just
my .02.

Now if I can just figure out why my Windows 2000 Pro install from SBC won't
boot under VMware...I'd be a happy man. Does anyone know if McAfee Enterprise
messes with the Windows boot sector by putting in some kind of virus protection
there? I suspect that's the problem.
