FreeBSD does the same stupid thing. I gave up on a FreeBSD 5.x install
the other day after the 7th time being asked to swap CDs.

I've never figured out why they don't sort the package list by CD, so
you don't have to keep swapping.

If you want a Linux that doesn't pester the crap out of you, install
Slackware. It's simple, usually very reliable, and a lot more stable
than the others in my experience.
