I don't expect the system to be perfect, since that would not be
possible.
It's the blindly stupid "they should be shot for it" things that really
tick me off.

You mean military veterans?
Are you sure they aren't just retired brass, and not all that clueful?
I've got mixed feelings about ex-military personnel in politics and
business.
I've seen a lot of them in business, and they are often horrible
business leaders.
