I've got the purple Dyson "Animal" myself.  $500 at Home Despot, and
worth every penny.  We've got two heavily shedding dogs and a cat, and
this thing sucks it all up without a problem.  I've never had such a
good cleaner.  The fact that it is bagless is just the icing on the
cake.
