when their ftp server went flaky [a year ago] i changed my curl
patch-fetcher script to use http instead of ftp, eg
http://patches.sun.com/current_unsigned/<patch>.zip
instead of
ftp://patches.sun.com/pub/current_unsigned/<patch>.zip

never got around to changing back, and i've been using it weekly since
then.
