There are also flavors of XP Pro and 2003 Server that have had all the
ephemera ripped out to make them "lite". 2003 Server built this way
apparently is a very nice gaming platform, while the "lite" version of
XP helps marginal hardware run much faster. They are usually built to
be "fire and forget", i.e. you boot off the CD/DVD and walk away.
This means they wipe the disk to which they are installing.
It's pretty amazing the crazy stuff people do just because they like
to hack on things. There are also AIO versions of Adobe software, M$
Office products, etc. out there in the wild.
