I went out to stores today and played with several Zune.

Short review: it looks like a product released before it was finished.

I have a longer review I'm working on for later.

Interesting observation: 

Normally a new product, even one not as good as the existing products,
sells at higher volumes than anything else when first released.

Locally, places which were promoting Zune have not sold many. At the
same time, their iPod sales were quite good, and several sold out since
Zune's release.
