If you take a silver one (64 bit WEP) and insert in a Mac running OS9
and the latest version of Airport software, it will convert a real Orinoco
silver card to gold (128 bit WEP).
There is also a windows utility to do it directly. The Windows utility
will work with all versions of the card.
Silver versions of the card are much more common and cheaper. You can also
find them in the original Airport base stations, the one with a 56k modem.
