Do these news article cite their references? The news tends to pick what
makes good copy.

They have better resolution pictures now so they can see formations that
appear to be created by liquid water and there have been investigations
into the possiblility of other ways these formation could have been created
on that planet that may not be seen here. This has been discussed in
Scintific American and other journals.

Some have made the prediction, not all. Which is funny because the records
have shown the global average has been increasing for about a hundred years.
The "media" will "print" whatever makes good copy.
