sdsl?  that's essentially jacked-up isdn; i understand many t1s today
are actually provisioned as sdsl.  btw 1.5M sdsl reaches exactly half
as far from the co as 2b+d isdn, 9500' vs. 19000'.

...and that method is probably obsolete by current tech now...

my boss had an isdn phone on his desk back around '88, when i was at
bell labs.  i think they were developing it then.
