Just about all of that. When the PIV came out, it was a poor performer
in terms of clock cycles. A 1.4gHz PIV was slower than a 1gHz PIII.
AMD capitalized on this and I have several machines from that era,
that vastly over rate that speed. Such as a 1400 (1gHz), 2000 (1.3gHz),
2200 (1.4gHz).

My significantly later PIV 1.7gHz is much faster than any of them. 
My 2.6 gHz PIV is twice as fast as the "2200".

Also isn't the Sempron the "Cellery-ron" of AMD? Cheap, but not a good
performer.
