I understand, but with bootcamp they boot into "real" WinXP running natively on the laptop,and I believe you can set the WinXP partition as the default boot choice, but I have not tried that myself...

Apple makes some nice Windows laptops ;^) So does Lenovo (new IBM Thinkpad owners), and I bet with a little investigation you could find a Canadian retailer that will ship you a replacement keyboard for installation in the laptop no matter what brand you go with...
