Hello all,
HP has a new printer, the DeskJet K5400dn that lists for $199 at staples, and
includes built-in networking and a duplexer. Another model is available, the
K5400dtn that adds a second paper tray to the above printer.
There's lots of little enhancements like faster (up to 35 PPM, 10-12 in
highest quality color), cheaper ink (they claim 25%cheaper), and a vibration
reduction mechanism that involves a weight that travels in the opposite
direction as the print head.
They also have an All In One version that includes scan, fax, copy and a 50
page document feeder...
The reason I mention it here is that by being a network printer, there is a
good chance it will work on platforms other than WinXp/Vista, but I can't get
more information (staples seems to be the only store carrying it, and right
now I can't get in to their site). I say chance because my color laser
printer 2600n is WIndows only (a MASSIVE driver renders the page ont he PC,
then ships it over)...
Anyway, thought some here might be interested...
Lionel
