She doesn't eat much at meal time that's for sure, although i would wager
it's a bit more than a cup.

The thing that impressed me was that she doesn't actually want anymore than
she eats.  It would be tough to have the "old" appetite with the new
limits, but that is not at all how it has played out.  At least for my mom.

She also doesn't crave the foods that she can't eat (anything high in sugar
alcohols).  Whereas before, she ate those foods a lot.
