I have no personal experience with Gastric By-pass surgery, but I do watch an 
unhealthy (some would say) amount of documentarys on TV, and one thing I hve 
heard repeatedly regarding this type of surgery is that the decision to 
perform the surgery is based not only on a physical evaluation, but also a 
psychological one.

As I understand it, if you can't adhere to the strict diet limits imposed 
after your surgery, the health issues are huge.
