Because my wife, son and I want a cell phone, not a television, music
library, camera, calendar and addressbook, we went withe 3 motorola v170's
from tracfone. Clamshell phone that can take lickin' and still keep
tickin'. My son carries his phone in his backpack mixed in with his iron,
pcb's and text books (Yes, An EE program that expects you to build and
test what you design) Trafone coverage is good. I travel alot and I
get service everywhere except the most remote places and for those areas
I carry a 2/6 meter handheld. Trafone may get good coverage because
tracfone buys time from whoever the local carrier is, thus it is AT&T
locally and Verizon in New York where my brother lives. The phone still
works, I just get charged 2 "units" when I call in New York
