That's... erm... to stop people.. switching it off? I sure as hell  
wouldn't want a hard power switch stuck out of  the back of our  
server. Certain folks would take it as a quick reboot switch.

Dell have gone this way in the last 6 months. Can't say I'm surprised.

Yes, and seeing as the Project Indiana betas (OpenSolaris) install in  
a fraction of the time and in a nice GNOME/Xorg installer, I think a  
facelift is required somewhere.
