Hello all,
This came up on another list, thought folks here might be interested as
well:
http://www.intel.com/design/servers/storage/ss4200e/index.htm
Intel Low-end NAS unit, runs about $425-450 on the web:
http://www.buy.com/prod/ss4200-ehw-entry-storage-system-w-o-sw/q/loc/101/206640196.html
Runs it's own OS, has a Celeron 420 and 512 Meg RAM as-shipped, accepts
4x 3 1/2" drives internally, and has 2x USB 2.0 and 2x eSATA connections
to grow beyond what is in the box, and has 1 Gb/Ethernet connectivity.
Just thought it was interesting - it would be more interesting if they
made the MB general-purpose and allowed installation/net or flash boot
of other OS, but I thought it was interesting as-is.
Lionel
