I'm guessing, but that looks like two problems to me.
1. It tunnels everything, I don't think they want to have ALL Internet
access go through the company servers.
2. It's two way. I doubt the Windows users care, but I sure would.
I would probably want to access my home network from work so I could
check my email, but I would not want anyone else doing it.
When my son and a business partner lived down the street from me, I
did exactly what you said. I had a vpn between them and us, so we
could exchange files, print on each others printers and so on.
Not something I would want random people at work doing.
