I used to know someone who, while working at Apple, proposed a 
modification that would give consistent behavior, *and* allow you to 
create a shortcut to anything anywhere by option-dragging it.
They rejected it because the Mac Plus doesn't have an option key.
On that logic, how much Apple software should be scrapped because the 
Mac Plus doesn't have a hard disk or a color screen...?
