Hello all,

I just picked up at Best Buy a 5 port D-Link 10/100/1000 Ethernet switch that
says it supports 9.6K Jumbo Packets for about $35. (I had some Best Buy
Rewards "dollars" burning a hole in my pocket) The switch is being touted as
being "green" in that it lowers the signal sent down a line based on the
length of the cat5 connection (longer runs, stronger signal), and it "turns
off" unused ports, all in an effort to reduce power.

I haven't used it yet, I just got it for a "workbench" switch for file
transfers among a few gigabit-enabled PCs, don't need 24x7x365 uptime, and at
$35, I thought it was cheap.

Note there is a $10 rebate available from a long list of internet retailers,
like Amazon.com (good for two pieces - click on "New Years Savings" on the D-
Link page.

Note ordering two from Amazon gets you free shipping, and $20 back putting the
cost at about $50 for both.

There is an 8 port version as well...
