[geeks] Is there still a free anti-virus package for WinXP?

I believe that AVG 8 will remove malware, etc when you scan, but it  
won't *prevent* malware from being loaded if you go to a website--e.g.  
it's after-the-fact.

Seems like it's "good enough" for most people if they stay away from  
IE and leave the Windows Firewall active.

I've decided to install gOS for my mom, set up her up a gmail account  
with auto-login, etc.  I can then set up sshd with key only login in  
so I can do updates from my house.

Does anyone know of any Linux package would be somewhat comparable to  
iPhoto/Picassa for digital camera/picture management?  The Gimp is a  
little too much for someone who's never laid hands on a computer. :-)
