[geeks] WANTED: decent firewire/usb camera for Mac Pro

I need to pick up a decent video camera for a Mac Pro.

Firewire or USB is fine, though USB might be more versatile.

I know the iSight is decent, but they are still a little expensive  
even used.

There are tons of USB cameras, but figuring out which ones work is  
"interesting".

I've tried three so far, and they either didn't work, or were clumsy  
to use, or didn't quite work right.

In particular, a lot of them have nice features and you need Windows  
to make use of them.

The huge driver list for Maccam or whatever that project is is nice,  
but it really doesn't tell me "XYZ really works great", so I'd  
appreciate any informed opinions.

Also, somewhat related, does anyone know of a decent remote video  
camera that works well with a Mac?

Are there any that are wireless that do not need WiFi?

OK, one more... :)

I also have an application for remote video, but it will be very, very  
far away from a computer.  It's for primarily outdoor use.

It seems like what would be idea is a camera that can record to some  
local storage, and ideally would have motion sensing or N seconds per  
frame automation.

I've seen a couple that mount on your head, but I would like one I can  
just place somewhere with a variety of mounts.
