So which is worse: a standard promoted by a company who did one  
stupid thing (Sony) and lets the RIAA be stupid-by-proxy, or a  
standard promoted by a company that's been convicted both in Federal  
Court and by the EU of criminal monopolistic behavior over the course  
of several years?

Sounds more like "a pox on both their houses".
