Why? For the covered basket of drugs most are 15% copay, the rest are
50% copay. There is a maximum monthly copay for a family (any size) of
400 NIS (used to be less than $100, now more).

Drugs not covered, vitamins, etc are often sold at a discount. 

You can petition (not always sucessfull, but sometimes it is) your HMO to
provide something that is not covered and if you can't get them to do
it, the Ministry of Health.
