That's not a valid comparison.
Rationing means you could afford 10 apples, but the government has
decided that no one needs more than 3, even when people who don't get
4 die all the time and could afford to pay for them.
That's why people in socialized medicine countries often travel to non-
socialized medicine countries to get medical care.
I met a guy in the local hospital years ago who was from Canada. At
home, he was dying, all because of arbitrary rationing rules.
He came here and a 30 minute operation saved his life.
He had the money, but his government was telling him he didn't need it
and/or that he wasn't worth spending even his own money on.
That's the thing a lot of people worry about with socialized
medicine. In some countries, it isn't just a limit in what "the plan"
will give you, you can't get it period.
