Yes, and as far as I can tell the first season (which is all I've watched
so far) was a criticism of the Clinton administration. The "pretend
president" was a Nobel laureate in Economics, six term senator and
two term Governor. 

It outlined the failings of the Clinton administraton versus its promises,
which I guess can be said about any president and their administration.

It seems to me that the comparison between him and the current president
elect are based solely on party, the character is much more like McCain.
