Or one from a company that says something like this:
"However, the operating systems that browsers run on were
designed in an era where there was no web."
What OS are they talking about? Why would it matter as long as the
"OS" is well written and can handle I/O, networking, and graphics?
Obviously they are talking about more than an OS of course.
The bulk of Windows is from a 1980s and early 90s design, but almost
every UNIX out there was rewritten, most of them in the last 10 years,
some time after the WWW. So was most of the GUI code. Stuff sucks
because it sucks, not when it was written.
Linux started in 1991 or so, so even if all that was not complete
bullshit, the statement still makes no sense.
And then the kicker: it's a new graphics system, or so they say.
Probably graphics layer and GUI code.
Yeah, just what the world needs, *ANOTHER* redundant and incompatible
graphics layer.
Man I miss the 80s... at least all the stupidity like this had an
excuse back then.
