Even with Verizon as the ISP, I totally wish it was available here. But
now that Verizon sold their New Hampshire landlines to Fairpoint[1],
we'll probably never see it. Fairpoint has *promised* to offer
broadband statewide within five years, but that promise was two years
ago, and to the best of my knowledge they haven't even decided so far
what technology they're going to use to deliver it, let alone have any
trial rollouts. They promised they'd continue to roll out FiOS, but to
the best of my knowledge the FiOS coverage area in New Hampshire now is
precisely what it was the day Fairpoint took over the lines from
Verizon. The only good things I can say about Fairpoint are that rates
haven't gone up and the phones still work.
[1] who took eighteen months just to get the customer data onto their
own systems, and lost significant amounts of it in the process; who
didn't manage to get their online bill payment system working until a
year after they promised it; and who still doesn't have working online
bill payment for any browser other than MSIE, or any browser running on
any OS other than Windows.
