I don't think Mike was implying that an anarchist society existed in
Russia at the time of the revolution, at least as how I read his
email, but certainly revolutionary/collectivist anarchism was a
popular philosophy during this time. Mikhail Bakunin lived in Tsarist
Russia & was one of the most influential anarchist philosophers of all
time. The Wikipedia articles on him, anarchism, and anarchism in
