Windows Media Center uses Windows Media Player for all it's playback,  
so yes.

Not that I know of... you're going to have to search for a solution  
for Windows Media Center, and from what I've read you're going to have  
to pay close attention to whether your codecs are 32-bit or 64-bit as  
well... anyway I don't have extensive experience with it, since I use  
Linux as my HTPC (which comes with it's own brand of pain... lately  
I've been thinking I just should have a used a Mac for my HTPC...)
